Star Queenscliff recruit Jaydo Wright has accepted a reprimand after pleading guilty to rough conduct on Modewarre’s Matty McKim in Saturday’s win at Mt Moriac.
Wright, who joined Queenscliff in the off-season from Ballarat league club Lake Wendouree, was cited by AFL Barwon’s Match Review Panel for an incident during the first quarter.
It was graded as careless conduct, low impact, and high contact, drawing a one-match suspension before the early guilty plea.
It means Wright is free to play against Portarlington in Round 11 after the ladder-leading Coutas have the bye this week.
In the GDFNL, Corio recruit Tom McMahon was reported for behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an umpire during the third quarter of the Devils’ 117-point loss to North Geelong.
Graded as a low-level offence, the volume was determined as being in the medium/low category.
The base sanction is a two-match suspension, which can be reduced to one match with an early guilty plea.
From the same game, Magpie Charlie Farrell was cleared of allegedly striking Corio’s Jay Blackney during the second quarter.
Inverleigh veteran Dean Muir will be free to play in the must-win clash with the Belmont Lions following the interleague break after accepting a reprimand for striking Werribee Centrals’ Darcy Phillips.
The MRP assessed the first-quarter incident as intentional conduct, low impact, and body contact, with an early guilty plea helping Muir avoid a one-match suspension.
