Coutas lose Easter clash

Queenscliff has been forced into a fixture change that will see it lose its lucrative Easter Saturday home game.

The Coutas have taken to social media to inform members of the change of venue for their season opener against Ocean Grove from Queenscliff Recreation Reserve to the Grubbers’ Ray Menzies Oval home.

The post states: “We are unable to gain access to our Queenscliff home ground for the first round fixtured v(s) Ocean Grove on Easter Saturday. Both netball and football games will now be played at Ocean Grove on Good Friday.

“A second change to (the) fixture will be in Round 11. We will now play v(s) Ocean Grove at home that Saturday. A straight swap.”

AFL Barwon chair Ed Wilson said in December there was a potential conflict with the reserve day for the Bellarine Peninsula Cricket Association grand finals, with Queenscliff Cricket Club confirming to K rock Football it will tender to host a decider.
