Bellarine leading goalkicker Mitch Day has avoided suspension after being scrutinised for two incidents in Geelong Amateur’s loss to Torquay.

Only a month after serving a one-week suspension for an incident in the win over Queenscliff, Day, who brought up the 100-game milestone at Ammos on the weekend, has found himself under the microscope of AFL Barwon’s Match Review Panel.

The veteran spearhead, who has kicked 66 goals for the season on his return to Queens Park to lead Anglesea’s Ayden Gras by five goals, was cleared of any wrongdoing in an incident with Tigers’ skipper Ben McNamara.

The MRP deemed the contact was not reportable, with Day pushed by a Torquay player into McNamara.

However, Day was charged with striking Tiger Oscar Lewis during the first quarter, with the incident as intentional conduct, contact to the body, and low impact.

An early guilty plea means he is free to play against Ocean Grove this week.

The MRP was kept busy reviewing the Corio-North Geelong GDFNL clash at Shell Reserve.

The Corio trio of Nathan Kenyon, Matt Jelenic, and captain Toby Bennett have accepted reprimands after lodging early guilty pleas.

Kenyon was cited for instigating a melee during the third quarter.

Bennett and Jelenic were charged with engaging in rough conduct on Magpie Jacsen Jewell during the melee.

The MRP assessed the incident as intentional conduct, contact to the body, and low impact, drawing a one-match suspension before the early guilty plea was entered.

Also accepting a reprimand was North Geelong water carrier Elijah Jewell for low-level misconduct after it is understood that he squirted water on opposition players.

Meanwhile, East Geelong recruit Galen Munari had no case to answer for contact on Belmont Lions star Bradley Michell during the third quarter of the Eagles’ big win at Richmond Crescent.
