Bellarine premiership favourites Geelong Amateur will be without league-leading goalkicker Mitch Day for its match-up with Drysdale following this week’s bye after accepting a suspension for an off-the-ball incident during the weekend win over Queenscliff.
Day, who has kicked 58 goals on his return to the Pegs from GFNL club Lara, was reported for striking Coutas’ vice-captain Harry Gower during the third quarter of the clash at Queens Park.
It was assessed as intentional conduct, high contact, and low impact, drawing a two-week suspension.
However, the 2015 Les Ash Medal winner lodged an early guilty plea, reducing the ban to one match.
Meanwhile, East Geelong’s Tim Lee has been cleared of any wrongdoing after being accused of kicking Bannockburn’s Rob Maibaum during the third quarter of the Eagles’ thrilling one-point win at Victoria Park.
Tigers recruit Ryan Wentworth has accepted a reprimand for striking East’s Josh Walsh, also during the third quarter.
The MRP assessed the incident as careless conduct, contact with the body, and low impact, resulting in a one-week suspension before an early guilty plea was entered.
