A former captain of a GFNL club, and a member of the club’s only Bellarine flag are among a handful of signings at Modewarre.
Warriors coach Josh Finch has confirmed to K rock Football the arrival of Grovedale key defender Brady Campi and return of 2018 premiership player Sam Romeril.
Modewarre has also signed fringe St Joseph’s trio Dylan Sharp, Ged Gallagher and Avery Knight.
Campi, who played four matches at Talent League level with the Geelong Falcons in 2018, made exactly 100 senior appearances for Grovedale.
Romeril played the last of his 47 senior matches for Modewarre in 2021 before spending three seasons at Skipton in the Central Highlands league.
He returned to his junior club East Point this year, featuring at senior level in 17 games, which included a qualifying final.
Sharp played 19 senior matches for Joeys across 2022-23, but none since. Knight made two senior appearances in mid-2024.
Gallagher was a consistent reserves player over 73 matches at 12 o’clock.
Modewarre has previously announced the signing of former Western Bulldogs midfielder Roarke Smith.
Meanwhile, former Modewarre and St Joseph’s defender Scott Driscoll has joined GDFNL club Bannockburn.
Driscoll last played in our region before COVID-19, lining up with Jeparit Rainbown and St Arnaud in the past five seasons.
And Werribee Centrals have added two-time Werribee Districts premiership player Max Ryan.
Described as a “hard-nosed half-back”, Ryan’s dad Jock is a premiership player with the Centurions.
And local football great Daryl Bisset has been appointed an assistant coach of Inverleigh.
Bisset, who has coached at several clubs across the region, including taking Anakie to Division 1 premierships in 1991 and 1994 joins good friend Chris Moore’s panel, along with Guy O’Keefe and recruit Zac Plant.
