Werribee Centrals forward Josh McDonald will face the tribunal later this week in a bid to play in Saturday’s GDFNL grand final against East Geelong.
McDonald, who has kicked 32 goals in 2026 to be the Centurions’ second-highest goalscorer for the season, has been offered a two-match suspension, with an early guilty plea, by AFL Barwon’s Match Review Panel, for striking Winchelsea’s Tom Rouget during the second quarter of the weekend’s preliminary final.
However, that offer’s been rejected, with McDonald’s tribunal hearing scheduled for Wednesday night.
It’s understood the Blues requested the MRP look at the incident.
The MRP assessed the incident as careless conduct, high impact, and high contact, resulting in a three-match sanction.
