Corio’s Blake Ash is facing a one-match suspension after being charged with striking Bannockburn captain Connor Jervies during Saturday’s loss.
AFL Barwon’s Match Review Panel assessed the second quarter incident at All In One Services Oval as intentional conduct, low impact, and high contact, drawing a two-week sanction.
However, an early guilty plea means Ash will only miss this week’s meeting with North Geelong.
Jervies was cleared of alleged rough conduct on Ash.
North Geelong’s Jacsen Jewell can escape with a reprimand for striking Inverleigh’s Fin O’Keefe during the second quarter of the Magpies’ win at Keith Barclay Oval.
The MRP assessed the incident as careless conduct, low impact, and high contact.
A one-match ban can be reduced to a reprimand with an early guilty plea.
O’Keefe was scrutinised for an alleged strike on Jewell and rough conduct on an unknown Magpie, but no charges were laid.
There was also no charge laid over a first-quarter incident that hospitalised Inverleigh vice-captain Jarrod Love, resulting in an almost 30-minute delay to play.
Footage of the incident clearly showed that the collision with a North Geelong player was an accident.
Geelong West’s Daniel Craven has been offered a reprimand with an early guilty plea after being reported for striking Winchelsea’s 11-goal hero Cam Primmer.
The incident during the final term of the clash at Scaada Stadium (West Oval) was assessed as careless conduct, low impact, and high contact, drawing a one-match suspension.
Craven’s teammate Riley Seresi-Unsworth was cleared of alleged rough conduct on Blue Reuben James, as was East Geelong’s Bailey Payne on Werribee Centrals’ Josh MacDonald.
In the GFNL, North Shore’s Michael Kavenagh can accept a reprimand for attempting to trip Colac’s Jsoh Garner during the third quarter of the Seagulls’ heavy loss at Australian Lamb Company Stadium.
