Talented Corio youngster Brock Cervenka will face the AFL Barwon Tribunal tomorrow night on two charges, including one of spitting towards an umpire.
Cervenka, recalled from the reserves for Saturday’s 101-point loss to North Geelong at Keith Barclay Oval, was also reported for abusive language towards an umpire.
He is one of two GDFNL players to appear before the tribunal, with Inverleigh’s Jarrod Love challenging a suspension for forceful front-on contact on Werribee Centrals’ Brandon Houlihan.
The second quarter incident at Galvin Park was assessed by the Match Review Panel as careless conduct, high contact, and medium impact, drawing a two-match suspension.
Love could have accepted a one-match sanction with an early guilty plea.
Both hearings will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) night.
In the GFNL, Geelong West star Lachie Taylor and Newtown & Chilwell veteran Liam Nash have accepted one-week suspensions for incidents from a fiery clash at West Oval.
Taylor was cited for rough conduct on Eagles youngster Finn Laffy, which was assessed as intentional conduct, contact to the body, and medium impact for a raised leg that connected with Laffy’s midriff.
Nash was charged with striking Taylor, with the MRP assessing that incident as intentional conduct, high contact, and low impact.
Eagle Oscar Murdoch and Giant Noah Allen accepted reprimands for engaging in a melee.
Only one incident was assessed in the Bellarine, with Angelsea playing coach Jordan Keras in the clear for high contact on Barwon Heads youngster Sonni Walter, which was paid a free kick on the day at Howard Harmer Oval.
