Inverleigh has sprung a pair of recruiting surprises, adding former Geelong Falcon Ethan Floyd and Winchelsea stalwart Michael Bourdouvalis.

Floyd, who has a VFL outing with Geelong on his resume, arrives at the GDFNL club after three seasons with Colac and District outfit Birregurra, while Bourdouvalis has made the move after 167 senior games with the Blues.

“Ethan comes to us as a highly skilled and polished player that will complement the age profile of our list nicely,” Inverleigh said on social media.

26-year-old Floyd was part of the Falcons’ most recent Talent League premiership in 2017, the same year he represented Vic Country at the under-18 National Championships.

He joined GFNL club Colac in 2019 and was part of the Tiger line-up that lost that year’s decider with the final kick of the contest.

Following the pause for Covid in 2020, he spent a year with Winchelsea and a season with Bellarine club Anglesea before returning to Birregurra.

All of Bourdouvalis’ football has been at Eastern Reserve, where he made his senior debut in 2012 and played in the Blues’ most recent final in 2014.

Inverleigh, which has missed the finals in consecutive years after claiming the 2023 flag, has previously announced the return of former coach Adam Donohue from South Colac and the arrival of Tnomson premiership player Zach Plant.
