Nathan Kenyon has become the latest experienced departure from Corio after signing on as a coach of a club in the Western District.

Kenyon, who served as an assistant coach during his four years at Shell Oval, having previously played at Anakie, Inverleigh and Newcomb, has taken on the top job at Mininera and District team Wickliffe Lake Bolac.

“Kenno has earned himself a huge amount of respect throughout the Geelong leagues and is known for having pinpoint, laser-accurate kicking ability,” a post on the club’s Facebook page said.

“Kenno’s knowledge, experience, and passion will be a massive asset for Wickliffe Lake Bolac.”

He joins 2024 Whitley medallist Matt James, who will play with fellow Mininera and District club Tatyoon, captain Toby Bennett and the talented Destyn Burns (both Ballan) and GDFNL MVP Russell Cowan (Fairpark) as post-season departures.

However, the Devils, who will be coached by the new combination of Adam Bell and Ross Gemmill in 2026, have welcomed former Northern Knights Talent League player Tom McMahon.

A Mernda junior, McMahon, who spent 2019 and 2021 with the Knights, is the third addition from Northern league club West Preston-Lakeside, following Callum Gibson and Cooper Shoebridge.

“A skilful and contested-ball-winning midfielder, Tom’s versatility allows him to impact the game in multiple roles,” Corio said in a statement on Facebook.

“He’s known for his ability to win his own footy and finish well — qualities that will be invaluable as we build towards a big 2026.”

GDFNL: COMINGS & GOINGS

Meanwhile, GDFNL rivals Geelong West have farewelled Sam Edwards after four seasons with the Giants.

The former Drysdale forward has joined Central Highlands club Rokewood-Corindhap.

Edwards played seven matches in 2025 for a total of 58 at West Oval.
