Bannockburn has received a boost in the lead-up to Saturday’s Round 1 meeting against North Geelong, with talented youngster Ryan Perkins returning to the club.

After spending the pre-season with GFNL club Bell Park, Tigers coach Ron Pilgrim told K rock’s Beyond the Boundary podcast that the former Geelong Falcon decided in recent days he wanted to head back to Victoria Park.

“I’m hoping he goes back and has another crack at it, but I just think he wasn’t ready and he wasn’t prepared,” Pilgrim said.

“And he said to me that he wasn’t enjoying it.

“So that only happened in the last few days, you know. He rang me and said he wasn’t happy.

“He had to do the right procedure for ‘Sakes’ (James Saker) and Bell Park Footy Club.

“He’ll be back on board and, hopefully, he gets himself right, and he has another crack in there because I think it would be great that he goes back in to have a crack.”
