Werribee Centrals playing coach Rhyce Prismall has been cleared over comments he made following last weekend’s loss to Bell Post Hill.
In a hearing lasting just over an hour tonight (Wednesday), Prismall was found not guilty after the AFL Barwon Tribunal was satisfied his displeasure at a Cam Saliba goal that was ruled to be kicked after the final siren sounded was not directed at the umpires.
Prismall was offered a two-week suspension with an early guilty plea on the charge of auditory offence towards an umpire, but chose to challenge the ban.
“I think it’s a bit of a misunderstanding that I can explain on the night,” Prismall told K rock Football on Saturday night.
“Nothing malicious or disrespectful to the umpire. I think they just misheard what I said or the way I directed it.
“So, yeah, we’ll more than likely appeal that one because it was a misunderstanding and nothing malicious in it.”
Werribee Centrals will chase its first win of the season when it hosts Inverleigh at Galvin Park on Saturday.
