Belmont Lions big man Jed Evans is free to play in this Saturday’s tricky meeting with Anakie after accepting a reprimand for an incident in Sunday’s win over Geelong West.
The AFL Barwon Match Review Panel cited Evans for a dangerous tackle/rough conduct on Geelong West captain Josh Viney during the second quarter of the Lions’ 63-point win at Winter Reserve.
The incident was classified as careless conduct, body contact, and low impact, drawing a one-match suspension.
With an early guilty plea, Evans has escaped with a reprimand.
It’s a similar situation for Werribee Centrals’ Tate Camillieri, who was charged over a dangerous tackle on Anakie’s Cameron Curnuck during the final term of the Centurions’ win over the Roos at Galvin Park.
Also classified as careless conduct, body contact, and low impact, like Evans, Camilleri has accepted a reprimand with an early guilty plea.
It means he’s available for this week’s meeting with Winchelsea at Eastern Reserve.
Also in the GDFNL, a strike by Inverleigh’s Logan Haberfield on East Geelong’s Ali Maas was not reportable.
And a lack of vision meant Geelong West forward Brayden Mitchell had no case to answer for umpire contact during the third quarter of the loss to the Belmont Lions.
In the GFNL, Newtown & Chilwell youngster Charlie Kelsall’s strike on Colac speedster Bailey Scott during the opening quarter of the Eagles’ loss to the Tigers was found by the MRP not to be reportable.
And high contact by St Mary’s Matt Copley on Leopold ruck Kyle Bumpstead was also cleared by the MRP, who deemed Copley’s intent was towards the ball.
The only charge in the Bellarine came from the reserve grade clash between Portarlington and Barwon Heads Oval at Ron Evans Oval.
Demon Blake McNamara accepted a one-match suspension for abusive behaviour towards an umpire.
