Unbeaten GDFNL ladder leader North Geelong will be without Blake Miller for its three matches following this week’s bye after accepting a suspension from AFL Barwon’s Match Review Panel.
The experienced forward was cited for late contact on Bannockburn’s Cooper Edwards during the second quarter of the Magpies’ win at Keith Barclay Oval.
The incident was assessed as intentional conduct, high contact, and high impact, drawing a four-match sanction.
An early guilty plea from Miller reduced the ban to three matches, which will sideline him for clashes with reigning premier Thomson, Werribee Centrals, and Belmont Lions.
Meanwhile, Bell Post Hill’s Sam Quinn has accepted a two-match suspension for rough conduct on Geelong West’s Alex Blair.
The rough conduct charge from the second quarter of the Panthers’ win over the Giants at Myers Reserve was classified as careless conduct, high contact and high impact, attracting a three-match ban.
However, an early guilty plea has resulted in that reduction.
Winchelsea star Cassidy Parish has escaped with a reprimand for late contact on Werribee Centrals forward Cam Saliba.
The incident was assessed as careless conduct, low impact, and high contact, with a one-match suspension reduced to a reprimand with an early guilty plea.
And Thomson’s Brandon Gardiner has no case for his involvement in a melee in the loss to Inverleigh.
