Inverleigh has poached experienced midfielder Zac Plant from GDFNL rivals Thomson.

The Hawks have confirmed the arrival of Plant, who was part of the Tigers’ 2024 premiership team and played in their losing grand final side the previous year against Inverleigh.

“We are getting a hard-nosed and experienced midfielder who will not only bolster our senior squad but will also drive standards and fit into our culture seamlessly,” the Hawks said in a statement on social media.

“As one of the pre-eminent midfielders in the league, we see Planta’s signing as a huge show of belief in the direction the club is heading.”

Originally from Castlemaine, where he played 40 senior games with the Bendigo league club, the 33-year-old also spent three seasons with Tasmanian State League club Lauderdale from 2014-16.

When he returned across Bass Strait in 2017, he joined GFNL club North Shore, before heading to Godfrey Street in 2019, playing 71 games.

The Tigers have confirmed the signing of Sadler, who played four senior games for the Swans, but none in 2025.

He finished runner-up in the GFNL reserves best-and-fairest, the Jim & Bill Allthorpe Medal, last year.

And Werribee Centrals have landed midfielder Kristian Adorno.

A former vice-captain of Western League club Point Cook, the 23-year-old was cleared to Bendigo League club Kyneton this year, but didn’t play a game.
