Thomson has farewelled key forward Darcy Troop, with the 2024 grand final best-on-ground medallist headed for the state’s southwest.
Hampden league club Port Fairy confirmed Troop as a signing this (Friday) morning.
Troop, who missed the final six games of the season with a dislocated shoulder, played 51 games and kicked 97 goals for the Tigers after arriving from GFNL club Newtown & Chilwell in 2023.
He kicked a game-high four goals as Thomson came from the elimination final to upset the Belmont Lions in the decider.
At the Towners, he played 50 senior games, kicking 98 goals.
Troop joins midfielder Zac Plant, who has joined Inverleigh, and retired duo Steve Salajan and Nick Lynch as the departures from Godfrey Street.
However, the Tigers will have the services of recently-appointed co-coach Jacob Knight, who will return from a serious knee injury suffered late last year.
They have also added former junior Zac Rochow-O’Toole from Leopold, and Torquay duo Roy Dixon and Max Piasente.
