GDFNL finals hopefuls Inverleigh have locked away premiership coach Chris Moore for a further two years.
The Hawks have confirmed the re-signing of Moore for the 2026 and 2027 seasons via social media.
“We’re thrilled to announce that Chris Moore has re-signed as senior coach for another two years,” a statement said.
“Chris has shown a strong focus and ability to develop our younger players, while also getting the best out of our experienced leaders.
“His passion, knowledge, and commitment to growth—both on and off the field—have been invaluable.
“We’d also like to acknowledge the support and involvement of the Moore family, whose investment in the club over the past few years has been invaluable. We’re lucky to have them as part of the fabric of our community.
“Here’s to continued progress under Chris’s leadership as we lay the foundation for the next generation of success.”
A reliable defender with Anakie, Moore’s first coaching role was in a caretaker capacity at Winchelsea in 2011.
He returned to the Roos as reserves coach before taking the senior job in 2016 for a four-year stint.
After departing Anakie, Moore joined Inverleigh as an assistant to Adam Donohue before taking on the top job in the middle of the 2023 season.
The Hawks went undefeated for the remainder of the season and claimed their first flag since emerging from a six-year recess in 2002.
Inverleigh narrowly missed the top five last year. However, the Hawks remain a chance to return to finals action after yesterday’s win over Bannockburn narrowed the gap on fifth-placed Bell Post Hill to four points.
Moore joins North Geelong’s Peter Riccardi in extending by two years, while it’s understood Bell Post Hill’s Ash Witney has committed for 2025.
