Geelong West veteran Michael Leamer has accepted a one-match suspension after being reported for headbutting in Saturday’s GDFNL win over Anakie.
AFL Barwon’s Match Review Panel assessed the contact with Roo Josh Alessi during a melee at three-quarter time at West Oval as intentional conduct, high contact, and low impact, drawing a two-game sanction.
However, an early guilty plea means Leamer will only miss the Round 14 meeting with Winchelsea on July 26.
The 37-year-old hadn’t played at senior level since 2023, making his return with three goals in the Round 10 loss to Inverleigh.
He also played in the win over Corio and kicked two goals as the Giants upset Anakie on the weekend.
The MRP statement also confirmed the previously reported finding into a bump by St Albans’ Bailey Coutts on Lara midfielder Darby Henderson in Saturday’s GFNL clash at Lara Recreation Reserve.
