Geelong Falcon Josh Lindsay will live out his AFL dream across the Nullarbor after being selected by the West Coast Eagles with pick 19 in tonight’s National Draft.
The elite kicking defender/midfielder was watching at his Leopold home when his name was called out, with family and friends swamping the talented 18-year-old.
The Eagles traded up a place to land Lindsay, securing Hawthorn’s selection, which sent a 2026 second-round pick – tied to St Kilda.

Lindsay, who played juniors with Geelong league clubs Leopold and Newtown & Chilwell, has been highly-touted in the past 18 months.
He was best-on-ground in the Under-17 Futures match on Grand Final day in 2024 and repeated the dose with Australia in the AFL Academy match against VFL club Coburg earlier this year.
The Geelong Grammar scholarship holder was captain of the Falcons and Vic Country this year.
He was named in the Talent League Team of the Year and the All-Australian team following the Under-18 National Championships.
Lindsay is the first Falcon to join the Eagles since Jackson Nelson in 2014.
“Josh is an outstanding left-foot kick who we rated highly, and when he was still on the board, we were keen to move up and secure him,” Eagles recruiting boss Duane Massey said.
