Ava Bilyk and Darcy Harrington have claimed top honours at tonight’s (Thursday) Geelong Falcons presentation night.
All-Australian captain Bilyk, who is expected to find an AFLW home in December’s draft, claimed the Lucy McEvoy Medal as girls’ best-and-fairest, while Harrington took home the Norris Harding Medal for his outstanding season in the boys’ competition.
Bilyk, a St Mary’s product, polled 164 votes to win by 47 from Greea McKeegan (Torquay) on 117, with Holly Confoy (Ocean Grove) third on 68 votes.
It was an Ocean Grove quinella in the boys, with Harrington polling 146 votes, 65 clear of fellow Grubbers product Tom Teague on 81.
Newtown & Chilwell’s Riley McLure finished third on 76 votes.
Rising Star awards were presented to Nate Mensch (boys) and Claudia Collins (girls).
Archer Chamberlain received the boys’ Coaches Award, while Lua Payne was awarded the girls’ equivalent.
Payne was also honoured with the Amy Gorrell Award, while the Kevin Evans Spirit Award was presented to strength and conditioning intern Kimmy Gilling.
At under-16 level, Daniel May and Millie Evans were named as the respective MVP recipients.
