Three Geelong Falcons have been invited to the AFL’s annual Draft Combine.
Josh Lindsay (Newtown & Chilwell), Jesse Mellor (Geelong West) and Hugo Mikunda (Bell Park) are among nine Victoria Country players selected.
It’s a strong indication of draft interest in the trio, with the combine’s participants selected by AFL clubs nominating the 50 players they are most interested in seeing.
In all, 64 players will be put through their paces at the State Netball and Hockey Centre from October 3-5.
Club interviews will be held at the MCG on Friday and Saturday, ahead of physical testing on Sunday.
The three Falcons represented Victoria Country at this year’s national carnival, with AFL Academy member Lindsay and Mellor selected in the All-Australian side.
Mellor, who is eligible to join Geelong as an NGA selection, made his debut with the Cats’ VFL team last week, kicking a goal in the win over North Melbourne.
Players are still open to being selected for the state combine when lists are released in the coming weeks.
