Dual GFNL Team of the Year member Mitch Chafer only needs to get through training on Thursday night to make his return from injury in Grovedale’s clash with Bell Park at Hamlyn Park.
The Werribee VFL-listed forward is yet to play in 2024 after suffering an ankle injury in the pre-season.
Tigers coach Jacob Spolding told K rock Football’s Beyond the Boundary podcast that Chafer is likely to play reduced game time against the Dragons.
“He’s that type of player, that even if he’s on some limited minutes – and I dare say he’d be around the 70 per cent game time – him playing in our senior team will be better for us and for him than playing in our reserves team,” Spolding said.
