Premiership player Jack Buckley is the latest departure from GFNL club St Joseph’s after signing with Ballarat league outfit Sebastopol.
A member of Joeys’ back-to-back flags in 2017-18 during an 85-game career, injury has restricted the dashing half-back to just 23 matches over the past three seasons, including just four this year.
Buckley will join Felix Henderson in making the trek up the Midland Highway.
Also departing Drew Oval this off-season are Joey Chaplin (WA), Ben Clark (Newcomb), James Hickey (Geelong Amateur), Jack Leonard (Queenscliff), Oscar Morrison (Bairnsdale), and Luke Webb (Bungaree).
Former St Joseph’s junior and Geelong Falcons graduate Mal White (North Ballarat) is the only confirmed conclusion.
However, it is understood Joeys are set to land Cats VFL signing Jack Jovanovic.
From the Gold Coast, Jovanovic represented the GWS Giants in the Talent League this year, while also kicking 54 goals in 18 games for AFL Canberra runner-up Queanbeyan.
Meanwhile, St Albans has continued its fruitful off-season following the signing of former Gold Coast VFL player Cody Harrington.
Harrington, who made nine appearances for the Suns, joins the Supersaints from QAFL club Broadbeach.
He also played with Gold Coast in the Talent League and represented Queensland at the under-19 National Championships in 2021.
“A versatile and competitive footballer, Cody’s exposure to high-level programs and big-game environments will be a great asset as he pulls on the black and white,” the Supersaints said.
