AFL Barwon has moved to lessen the impact of Geelong’s AFL preliminary final on Saturday’s GFNL crowd by bringing the start time of the St Joseph’s-South Barwon clash forward more than an hour.
With the Cats’ clash against the Lions scheduled for 5:15pm at the MCG, a 1:00pm bounce for the Joeys-Swans match-up gives fans a chance to either make the trek to Melbourne or be home in plenty of time to catch the action.
The change of senior match time will have a flow-on effect.
The AFL Barwon under-18 Division 1 preliminary final between St Joseph’s and Torquay commences the day’s proceedings at 8:45am, followed by the reserve grade meeting between Joeys and South.
Netball match times remain unaffected.
