St Joseph’s gun Jack Mullen is facing at least another fortnight on the sidelines after suffering a setback in his return from a hamstring injury.

Sidelined since the Anzac Day win over South Barwon, Mullen was due back for last Sunday’s loss to Newtown & Chilwell.

However, a recurrence at training last week has made him unlikely to return until later this month.

“(He) just gave it a little bit of a nick, so he’ll be another couple of weeks, unfortunately, because we’re missing him,” coach Ron Watt told K rock Football.

Key defender Joel O’Dwyer (scaphoid, seven weeks), young star Max McLachlan (syndesmosis, 6-10 weeks), and Geelong VFL-listed Joey Chaplin (quad, four weeks) are unlikely to be seen until after the July bye.

In better news, Mathieson Medal fancy James Gow will return for the meeting with South Barwon after being unavailable last week.

While Jack Buckley appeared to have got through a return in the reserves unscathed.

Meanwhile, Newtown & Chilwell should have the services of Werribee-listed Charlie Byrne for its meeting with Lara.

The skilful Byrne was withdrawn from the Eagles’ line-up by Werribee due to a minor ankle issue.

The news isn’t as good for winger Charlie Harris, who is facing an extended stint on the sidelines with a quad injury.
