He might have come off second-best, but South Barwon veteran Andrew Boseley has been the one cited for a collision during Friday’s GFNL grand final loss to St Mary’s, which left him hospitalised with a fractured eye socket.
K rock Football understands Boseley has accepted a one-match suspension with an early guilty plea for rough conduct on Saints talisman Paddy Dowling.
The incident happened late in the opening quarter of the clash at GMHBA Stadium. An ambulance was called to treat Boseley, delaying the start of the second quarter by 20 minutes.
It was assessed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
Dowling passed a head injury assessment following the incident, and went on to kick three telling goals in the 20-point victory.
Boseley remains in hospital, with surgery on hold until the swelling around his right eye subsides.
