JASON Armistead will let the dust settle on the Geelong Falcons Girls’ NAB League season before deciding his coaching future.

The Falcons finished this year’s home-and-away season in second place with just one loss but was bundled out of the premiership race following a 35-point loss to Calder.

Armistead has been in charge of the Falcons program since it commenced in late 2016, compiling a 22-3 win-loss record, including last year’s TAC Cup premiership.

“I haven’t really thought about it,” Armistead said when asked about his plans for 2020. “I’ll have a think about it over the next few weeks.

“I’m doing the Vic Country assistant (coaches) role, so I’ll still be involved with our girls and the Vic Country girls over the next couple of months.

“I’ll just make a decision around that time, I think.

Armistead, who was a star player with both Colac and South Barwon before spending two years as coach of Bellarine league club Anglesea, believes he has put the program in a good position regardless of his decision.

“I just enjoy being in a team sport, and coaching and helping develop young players,” he said.

“Whatever opportunity comes up, I’m happy to look at.

“I’ll just play it as it comes along”.
