LEADING AFL draft prospect Jhye Clark will get the chance to enhance his leadership skills after being named captain of the Geelong Falcons for the 2022 NAB League Boys season.
A member of the AFL Academy, the Queenscliff product will head-up a three-person leadership group featuring St Joseph’s duo Ted Clohesy as vice-captain and Oli Northam as deputy-vice captain.
“Those three guys have probably been the standouts through pre-season,” coach Paul Corrigan said.
“And not just from a football sense, but from their on-field leadership and the way they conduct themselves and gather the group together.
“Clarky’s had a sensational year last year as a 17-year-old with his Vic Country stuff.
“Put that together with his pre-season, and he was justified as captain.”
NAB LEAGUE BOYS: FALCONS SQUADS REVEALED
Corrigan said the club’s values were used to select their leaders.
“Each player votes five down to one on our four values, and how they represent that,” he said.
“From the playing group, they saw that Jhye was the best candidate, and I think they’ve got it absolutely right.”
NAB LEAGUE GIRLS: FALCONS NO MATCH FOR RANGES
