THE door has been opened for GFL, BFL and GDFL players carrying multiple points to receive a two-point reduction ahead of the 2021 season.
Following feedback and a review of AFL Barwon’s Player Points System Policy, and working in conjunction with AFL Victoria and the Community Club Sustainability Program, a player will only be eligible for a two-point reduction if they played five or more senior or reserve grade matches in 2019 with the club they register with next year.
“The unprecedented events of 2020 that resulted in no Senior Football and limited Junior Football being played have created a need for the CCSP working party and Local Regions to provide some minor amendments to existing policies for the 2021 season, whilst maintaining the integrity and purpose of the program objectives,” a statement from AFL Barwon said.
Total team points limits for clubs will remain at the level allocated for 2020.
However, AFL Barwon said clubs could ask for reassessments of both team and individual allocations.
