IF the Geelong Falcons are to avoid a third-straight loss for the first time in their short history, they will have to do it without captain Lucy Were.
The key forward will miss Saturday’s clash with the unbeaten Oakleigh Chargers due to an Achilles issue that kept her out of the action for the majority of last week’s loss to the Northern Knights.
However, half-forward duo Gabbi Featherston and Mia van Dyke will both return.
The Falcons sit seventh on the overall ladder, but with the finals to be played in metro/country conferences, they are third behind the Tassie Devils and Dandenong Stingrays.
