First-year Tiger scoops the pool

GROVEDALE midfielder Isabella Hill has scooped the pool in Tuesday night’s AFL Barwon Senior Women’s Football awards.

Hill, who arrived in Geelong from Ballarat to study Deakin University ahead of the 2021 season, took out the Division 1 best-and-fairest, claimed Rookie of the Year honours, and was named in the Team of the Year.

She finished on 21 votes, seven clear of Geelong Amateur’s Emily Ramsay

The Division 2 award went the way of North Geelong’s Temikka Beeston ahead of Drysdale defender Caitlin Pickett.

Beeston polled 18 votes, with Pickett tallying 14.

In Division 3, St Joseph’s young gun Charlotte Simpson finished on top of the leaderboard ahead of Maggie Caudullo from South Barwon.

On her return from the Geelong Falcons, Simpson stormed home to finish on 18 votes, two ahead of Caudullo.

Tim McGrath was honoured for taking Geelong Amateur to the minor premiership in Division 1 by being named coach of the Team of the Year.
