LOCAL football fans wanting to see the next generation of talent first-hand will be denied that opportunity in 2022, with the Geelong Falcons afforded just one game in Greater Geelong.
The NAB League Boys fixture sees the Falcons play 13 matches from early April until late August.
However, despite being listed as the “home” team on seven occasions, Round 2 is the only fixture within the club’s region.
Other matches will be played at Craigieburn, Ballarat, Bendigo and Werribee.
A trip to Darwin is on the cards on April 24 with a meeting against the Northern Territory, who will feature in rounds three, four and five, fixtured.
The Falcons season-opener is against the Gold Coast Academy at Craigieburn on Sunday, April 3, with the academies from the Suns, GWS Giants, Sydney Swans and Brisbane Lions all playing the opening four rounds.
The finals series will feature the 12 Victorian teams and Tasmania, with the top three clubs getting a bye and the other ten featuring in a wildcard weekend across August 27-28.
