GEELONG Falcons coach Paul Corrigan is confident ruck Keeley Hardingham is putting herself in the AFLW draft frame following another standout performance in Sunday’s win over the GWV Rebels in Ballarat.
The Falcons recorded their fifth win of the season – and second in three weeks over the Rebels – 9.9 (63) to 4.4 (28) at City Oval.
Hardingham, who is on the list in her 19-year-old year, dominated at stoppages and around the ground.
“She’s such a good footballer,” Corrigan said. “As a ruck, her follow up stuff has been outstanding this year.
“Even her skills on the outside … she’s able to accumulate the footy as well.
“Last week, she had 28 (disposals), and I think she’s had over 20 again today.
“She’s in pretty good form at the moment.”
Chloe Adams and Sara Howley were also impressive for the Falcons, while Leila Owens and Kara Stacey kicked two goals.
The victory has the Falcons well-placed to claim second spot in the Country conference and a meeting with the unbeaten Dandenong Stingrays in the semi-finals.
They now sit two games clear of Tasmania, which lost to the Eastern Ranges but has a game in hand with three rounds to play.
“We’ve put ourselves in a good spot for the two remaining games that we play,” Corrigan said.
“All things being well, we play in that first final, which will be nice.”
The Falcons will enjoy a week off over the Labour Day weekend before hosting the Ranges at Deakin University on Sunday, March 20.
