Jury delivers Erin Patterson verdict

The jury has delivered its verdict at the trial of Erin Patterson, finding her guilty of serving her lunch guests with beef Wellingtons containing death cap mushrooms.

The jury has reached it’s unanimous decision and found Patterson guilty on three counts of murder and one of attempted murder.

Her parents-in-law Don and Gail Patterson and Gail’s sister Heather Wilkinson died in hospital after the Leongatha lunch in July 2023.

Heather’s husband Ian Wilkinson survived after spending weeks in hospital.

The verdict was handed down at the Supreme Court in Morwell after six days of jury deliberation.

Patterson has maintained her innocence across the trial, pleading not guilty to the four charges.
