ST KILDA is set to delist luckless key forward Paddy McCartin as the 23-year- old takes a break from the AFL to focus on his recovery from repeat concussions.

McCartin is contracted until the end of 2020 but, according to multiple reports, will be delisted this year with the final year of his contract to be paid out.

The key forward and the Saints mutually came to the decision to put his career on hold, with McCartin hoping to resume his AFL dream after a break in 2020.

He is set to spend the year rehabilitating from his concussion issues.

The 2014 No.1 draft pick hasn’t played an AFL game since round 16, 2018.

He suffered his most recent concussion – his eighth – in the 2019 pre-season and has not featured at any level of football since.

McCartin has 35 AFL games and 34 goals to his name since making his debut in 2015.
