CAT ATTACK PODCAST – FEATURING MIKAYLA BOWEN – AUGUST 28
Winger Zali Friswell has earned a quick recall, with Geelong making one change for Saturday’s clash with Sydney at GMHBA Stadium.
Omitted after the Round 1 loss to North Melbourne, Friswell replaces Bryde O’Rourke following last week’s fadeout against Adelaide.
Coach Dan Lowther said before the loss to the Crows that he was keen to see more consistency from Friswell.
“It’s a tricky position to play as an outside runner on the wing and have involvements in the game,” Lowther said.
“You have to make the most of those chances when they do come your way, and it’s something that she’s worked really hard on over a period of time.
“She’s been a great player for us and will continue to be a great player for us, but there’s a few things she needs to work out around contests and just about using her attributes to the fullest.”
Despite suffering a nasal fracture in her first appearance for Geelong, former Collingwood big Erica Fowler has been named.
The Swans, who handed Gold Coast an 82-point hiding in Round 2 thanks to seven goals from Chloe Molloy, have a strong Geelong presence in their team.
Darcy Moloney will play her first game against her former teammates alongside fellow former Cat Laura Gardiner and Geelong Falcons products Lucy McEvoy and Ash van Loon.
