Ollie Henry has been recalled from the VFL, and Oli Wiltshire will play just his third AFL game, with Geelong settling on two changes for tomorrow (Thursday) night’s Round 3 opener against Adelaide.
They replace injured captain Patrick Dangerfield (calf) and forward Brad Close, who will play VFL for the first time since being drafted in 2019.
After missing the Round 1 win over Fremantle with an infected finger, former Hawthorn midfielder James Worpel has been unable to win his spot back, having been named an emergency alongside Jack Bowes and Mitch Knevitt.
Henry kicked five goals in last week’s VFL win over Essendon, while Wiltshire contributed four majors.
The Barwon Heads product made two AFL appearances last year.
The Crows, who last won at Kardinia Park in 2003, have made three forced changes while managing veteran forward Taylor Walker.
Captain Jordan Dawson, veteran Rory Laird, and Brisbane recruit Callum Ah Chee are also out of the team that lost by six points to the Western Bulldogs.
They’ve been replaced by Hugh Bond, Zac Taylor, Luke Nankervis and ex-North Melbourne big man Finnbar Maley, who will play his first AFL match for Adelaide.
K rock is live from 6pm Thursday via FM 95.5 across Geelong and the Surf Coast, the K rock app, and the AFL app.
