Geelong will debut mature-age draftee Shaun Mannagh in Saturday night’s Round 1 meeting with St Kilda at GMHBA Stadium.
Mannagh, who joined the Cats from VFL club Werribee with pick 36 in last year’s National Draft, showed enough in just over a quarter of action against Essendon in the Community Series Clash on 1 March.
He’s been named on the five-person bench alongside Gryan Miers, Zach Tuohy, Jake Kolodjashnij and Tom Atkins, with one to be the tactical substitute.

With Ollie Henry overcoming a rolled ankle that ruled him out of the clash with the Bombers, Geelong has decided against partnering Shannon Neale with Jeremy Cameron and Tom Hawkins in the forward line.
He is one of three emergencies with Oisin Mullin and Brandan Parfitt.

Former Gold Coast Sun Jack Bowes (calf) and veteran defender Jed Bews are the only players from the 26 who played against Essendon who aren’t in the squad.
Geelong’s first pick in the 2022 National Draft, Jhye Clark, will play just his second AFL game – and first at GMHBA Stadium – having been named as the starting rover.
Lively small forward Ollie Dempsey has also been named.
