AARON Black will again captain Geelong’s VFL team.
The former Cats and North Melbourne AFL forward’s appointment comes ahead of Sunday’s season-opening clash with the Roos at GMHBA Stadium.
Fellow ex-AFL Cat Darcy Lang will be his deputy.
Lang played 44 AFL games for Geelong and 20 with Carlton before being delisted last year.
Jackson Thurlow, who managed 46 matches for the Cats and 17 for Sydney at AFL level, has been named in the leadership group along with experienced VFL duo Dan Capiron and Callum Mitchell.
Capiron, who started his VFL career at Frankston, and ex-Tasmanian Mitchell are aligned to GFL club St Joseph’s.
