Gary Rohan’s football future is under a cloud, with the Geelong forward set to undergo surgery on a fractured skull.
The 33-year-old suffered the injury in the opening quarter of the Cats’ VFL semi-final loss to Southport at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday.
The out-of-contract veteran took to social media from his hospital bed to reveal the seriousness of the accidental clash.
“Scans have confirmed a fractured skull, but I am doing well and in the best hands,” he wrote.
“Now, just waiting on surgery. Thank you for all of the messages and well wishes.
The Cobden product, who was drafted by Sydney from the Geelong Falcons, has played 12 AFL games this year for a career total of 204.
