Geelong has opened another spot on its list ahead of the AFLW Trade Period after delisting Caitlin Thorne.

Thorne, who joined the Cats as a replacement player ahead of the 2024 season for retiring ruck Erin Hoare, played 11 games in her two years at GMHBA Stadium, including six this year.

“Caitlin embraced our program and was a great teammate as she continued to grow and develop her game over the past two seasons,” Geelong’s Head of AFLW Dominique Condo said.

“We wish her all the best on the next phase of her journey.”

Thorne is the seventh departure from Geelong’s 2025 list following the retirements of captain Meghan McDonald, Kate Darby and Shelley Scott, and the delistings of Gabbi Fatherston, Bella Smith and Mel Bragg.

Irishwoman Anna-Rose Kennedy, who was inactive this year, is also confirmed as not returning to the club, which is searching for a new coach after parting company with Daniel Lowther late last month.

However, Chantel Emonson is expected to return after giving birth to her first child in the middle of the year.

The AFLW Trade Period runs from December 4-10 ahead of the AFLW Draft on December 15.
