GEELONG midfielder Cam Guthrie wasn’t mincing words following Saturday’s shock 12-point loss to Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
Speaking to K rock Football following the loss, Guthrie didn’t shy away when asked about the mood in the Cats’ rooms in the aftermath of the performance.
“To put it bluntly, we’re pretty dirty with our performance,” he said. “I don’t think we came out and showed we were ready to play.
“Adelaide took advantage of that, and they were good themselves. It takes only a couple of per cent (to be off), and we made it really hard for ourselves.
“We’ve got things to work on; there’s not too many positives to come out of today.
“We’ve got some naturally cautious players in our team, and that’s OK at some stages of the team.
“But, I think we need to take it on from the start and really throw the first punch, which I don’t think we did today.”
