AFLW CAT ATTACK PODCAST – OCTOBER 13
Forgotten Geelong forward Chloe Scheer could be a chance to make her long-awaited return to football before the end of the season, with her injury status changed from indefinite to TBC.
Scheer, who hasn’t played since the Cats’ preliminary final loss to the Brisbane Lions in 2023, missed last year with a toe injury.
A knee issue has kept her sidelined during 2025, but she has returned to main training.
The 26-year-old joined Geelong from Adelaide in late 2021, playing 32 games and kicking 41 goals in her first three seasons at GMHBA Stadium.
“Chloe has made great progress in her recovery from a knee injury, and we are now assessing a timeframe for her return to play,” Cats’ AFLW boss Dominique Condo said.
“Chloe has now returned to main training, and we’re looking forward to seeing how she continues to progress.
“We aren’t able to give a concrete timeline for her return as we are continuing to build up her training loads; however, we are hopeful she could return at any point between now and the end of the home and away season.
“Everything is looking positive, and we are hopeful Chloe can play an on-field role for us as we make a bid to play finals.”
However, time appears to be running out for veteran Shelley Scott, whose calf issue is listed as 2-4 weeks.
