GEELONG will start its VFL campaign with a home game against Essendon on Saturday, March 26.
The 2022 fixture was released on Tuesday afternoon, which will see the 21 clubs play 18 home-and-away games and have four byes.
The Cats are listed as the home team on nine occasions. However, only the opening round venues, days and times have been confirmed.
There is the potential for AFL curtain-raisers against Collingwood (MCG – Round 2), Brisbane (GMHBA Stadium – Round 3), Williamstown (GMHBA Stadium – Round 6), GWS Giants (GMHBA Stadium – Round 10), Footscray (Marvel Stadium – Round 11), Richmond (MCG – Round 14), Casey Demons (GMHBA Stadium – Round 16), Carlton (MCG – Round 17), Coburg (GMHBA Stadium – Round 19), Sandringham (GMHBA Stadium – Round 20), Port Melbourne (GMHBA Stadium – Round 22)
Geelong isn’t drawn to play Gold Coast and Sydney. The Cats lone interstate trip is a first meeting with the Southport Sharks on Easter Weekend (Round 4).
