Geelong fans will get a bonus game at GMHBA Stadium in 2024, with the AFL fixturing a pre-season match at the venue.
The Cats will host a Community Series clash against Essendon on the afternoon of Friday, 1 March, in what looms as a dry run for the official opening of the Joel Selwood Stand in Round 1 against St Kilda.
The first bounce will be at 5:10pm, with the match to be played under normal timing conditions.
Clubs will be allowed to name 26 players for the match, with up to eight players on the bench available to coaches.
Tickets for the meeting between the Cats and Bombers will go on sale in February.
Geelong is yet to confirm whether it will take place in an optional match simulation session against another club.
