Geelong has filled the second-last place on its AFLW list ahead of next week’s official start to pre-season training, adding South Australian Emma Kilpatrick.

The 18-year-old, described as a highly-skilled and hard-running winger by the Cats, was runner-up in the best-and-fairest of SANFLW club West Adelaide in 2024.

“Emma has been playing senior SANFLW football for West Adelaide for the past four seasons and has shown significant improvement and continued growth and development year on year, highlighted by a strong recent performance for the SANFL representative team against the VFLW and WAFLW,” Cats AFLW operating and recruiting manager Ben Waller said.

“With pre-season starting next week, we can’t wait to welcome Emma into our program, and we are excited to see what she can bring in 2025.”

Kilpatrick, who represented South Australia at last year’s under-18 National Championships, is one of five newcomers for the Cats.

She joins former Australian volleyball representative Caitie Tipping and draftees Piper Dunlop, Lexi Gregor, and Sienna Tallariti.

Geelong has one list spot to fill, with Irish star Anna-Rose Kennedy (personal) and experienced defender Chantel Emonson (pregnancy) inactive this year.
