Experienced trio Renee Garing, Georgie Rankin and Erin Hoare will return to the Geelong team for Saturday night’s must-win AFLW clash with Richmond at IKON Park.

Rankin and Hoare missed last week’s loss to Collingwood, with Garing to make her first appearance since the Round 5 loss to Melbourne.

Liv Fuller, Mel Bragg and Gabbi Featherson have been dropped.

Geelong (4-4) holds eighth spot on the ladder thanks to an impressive percentage of 118.5. However, five clubs, also on 16 points, are snapping at the Cats’ heels.

A win over the Tigers should be enough to snatch a second-straight finals berth ahead of the final-round clash with Hawthorn.

A loss could see Richmond replace the Cats inside the eight. Carlton, Sydney, St Kilda, and Fremantle could also leapfrog the Cats with a win in Round 9.
