Emerging Geelong midfielder Jhye Clark has been rewarded for an impressive pre-season with a two-year contract extension.
The 19-year-old has inked a new two-year deal that will keep in the Hoops until at least the end of 2026.
Zach Guthrie and Irishman Oisin Mullin have been locked away for 2025.
Clark was the Cats’ first pick in the 2022 National Draft from Queenscliff. He made one AFL appearance in 2023 before a foot injury derailed his season.
He had 13 disposals and three clearances in last (Saturday) night’s win over St Kilda.
“Jhye has shown exciting progression with his development in the pre-season after getting a taste of AFL football last year,” football boss Andrew Mackie said.
“He is a very talented player, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.
Guthrie, who played every game last year and now had 78 games under his belt, would have been eligible for free agency at the end of this year.
“Zach has developed into a very reliable defender for us,” Mackie said.
“We love the way Zach goes about it, and he is an exceptional teammate.”
Mullin joined Geelong as a Category B rookie and played six AFL matches in 2023.
He played in the Cats’ Community Series meeting with Essendon but was an emergency for the Round 1 win over St Kilda last (Saturday) night.
“We acknowledge how courageous and brave the decision Oisin made to move to Australia.
“He has positively embedded himself into our football program, and we are extremely happy with his development.”
The extensions for Clarke, Guthrie and O’Connor have reduced the number of Cats without a deal for next year to 20.
