Crucial clash for Cats

June 25, 2021 3:15 pm in by

GEELONG will be hoping its VFLW match-up with Collingwood will be the first of consecutive meetings between the two clubs.

The Cats need to end the Magpies 13-match unbeaten streak in Saturday’s clash at Victoria Park if it’s to lock away the double-chance and book a qualifying final berth.

However, if Geelong can’t beat Collingwood, and third-placed Port Melbourne beats 10th-placed Hawthorn, the Cats will find themselves in an elimination final.

Geelong has made three changes for the match.

Forward Sachi De Giacomi and AFLW-listed trio Carly Remmos, Georgia Clarke and Sophie Van De Heuvel have been included.

Jess Foley, Rene Caris, Jamie Woollett and Annabel Johnson have gone out of the team that defeated Hawthorn last week.
