Geelong vice-captain Tom Stewart has been handed a fine for his contact on Port Adelaide veteran Ollie Wines during Sunday’s 88-point win at GMHBA Stadium.
The AFL’s Match Review Officer assessed the attempted smother by Stewart during the second quarter was assessed as careless conduct, low impact and high contact, drawing a $3000 fine for a first offence.
However, an early plea reduces the sanction to $ 2000.
